Pass me the garlic, ginger, and beets.
Salad with apples never tasted so sweet.
The aromas from the garden linger strong,
Cooking with love, how could we go wrong?

My apron was new, you said it was a gift.
How do you move so fast, elegant, and swift?
Mushrooms galore, look at her slice!
Why do we have to soak the onions in ice?

Peel the citrus and avoid the eyes.
Look at our bread, the dough on the rise!
My stomach is growling and I don't want to pout.
If I say please, may I sprinkle the sprouts?

Slice up the avocado, carrots, and beans.
Shake in the sauce and salt the greens.
Set the plates and serve the meal.
Our plates look tasty, what an appeal.

Happy Birthday mom. I wish you were here.
The kitchen always smelled best when you were near.
